Description
The MEI Automatic Slack Adjuster (ASA) employs the design which was originally developed and patented by Haldex. MEI ASAs are effectively the same as Haldex ABAs and are completely interchangeable with them. The adjusting ratios are the exactly the same, so you can use an MEI ASA on one end of an axle and a Haldex ABA on the other.This design, which incorporates the Gap or Clearance Sensing principle, is the standard choice of all European and most North American Original Equipment Manufacturers. It is interchangeable with most ASAs currently in service and, in the appropriate configuration, can be used with all applications with S-cam brakes.
The MEI ASA has been tested to ABE by TÜV in Germany and to SAE J1462 by Link Testing Labs of Detroit, Michigan, USA. Both design and manufacturing are well proven and MEI has no hesitation in offering warranty periods that are equal to the longest in the automotive industry.
